As a qualified intern, they must complete 3,000 supervised practice hours under the direct supervision of a licensed counselor, with 1,500 hours of direct patient care. They must then pass the National Clinical Mental Health Counselor Examination or the National Counselor Examination to obtain a license through the Nevada State Board of Examiners.

The average cost of a licensed therapist in Las Vegas is $141. On the low end, student therapists are sometimes available at some practices for around $40 per session. On the high end, some therapists are charging about $395 per session.
