About Megan Lewis

Megan has been practicing as a Marriage and Family Therapist since 2004 and is licensed as such in both Arizona and Colorado. Prior to opening her own practice in 2010, Megan worked in inpatient, residential, and outpatient centers and worked with people around a variety of therapy needs: substance abuse, domestic violence, people who were looking to find recovery from an eating disorder, people who were healing from trauma, couples and families, and individuals working to find ways to more effectively manage their emotions, particularly around anxiety and depression. In Arizona, Megan served as the Clinical Director of two different agencies, one focusing on treatment for domestic violence and substance abuse and one focusing on treatment for eating disorders. As part of these positions, Megan was responsible for program oversight and the professional development and supervision of clinical staff. Megan currently works part-time as the Behavioral Health Director for a local Denver non-profit serving the comprehensive needs of refugees and asylum seekers. Megan works to get to the core of the struggle bringing you in as well as brings awareness to the patterns that are creating struggle so that change can happen, and “keeps it real” so that you are comfortable talking to her. She believes therapy is an active process and will not only listen to you but will also provide feedback about observations made, patterns noticed, and choices available for change to happen. Through her own personal experiences and professional work, Megan believes that change to living a more courageous and fulfilling life is possible-a life where your fears or anxieties do not define your life, where your relationship feels more connected, or where your past no longer defines your present and future . Through learning how to listen to and trust yourself, find your authentic voice, learn how to connect to and express and experience your emotions more effectively, you can feel more empowered in your life and experience individual and relationship growth.
