About Judith Browne

I focus on developing mindfulness skills - an essential element in making lasting change, and understanding the neuroscience and philosophy behind it. Mindfulness can help you to make conscious choices and to break habitual patterns. It is beneficial in learning how to control and change your thoughts, emotions and behaviors. In session I frequently use clinical hypnosis, creative visualization, bilateral stimulation (EMDR), and Emotional Freedom Techniques (tapping) in conjunction with psychotherapy to reach the subconscious mind, so the desired insight or change can happen faster. I offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each of my clients individual needs to help attain the personal growth for which they are striving. As most of the work in therapy occurs in the real world outside of sessions, I usually have suggested “homework” for you to do between sessions. This can included simple personality tests (MBTI, Enneagram, and Attachment Styles), YouTube videos, readings, journaling, mindfulness and meditation practices, and simple challenges - this is all to help you get to your goals faster. My clients appreciate that I am not your average “cookie cutter” therapist. You won’t find me nodding endlessly like a bobblehead. You know what I mean. My approach is a bit more direct and straightforward. I am not going to tiptoe around your issues - you don’t have time for that. I do use humor and occasionally a few cuss words. Clients who do well with my approach come ready to work and understand that I’m not going to wave my magic therapy wand and have their problems disappear. Additionally, they have the capacity to be self-reflective, are open to new perspectives, are motivated, and are seeking personal growth. Please check out my webpage for more information about me and my practice.
