About Shannon Forbes
As a therapist, I work with couples and individuals alike who may be struggling to navigate particularly challenging periods, including those related to significant life changes and traumas. Working together, we can turn your pain into possibility. My role is to walk hand-in-hand with my clients throughout the counseling process to reduce the feelings of grief, worry, and confusion they grapple with.
My counseling style integrates behavioral therapy (namely Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, or CBT) with psychodynamic and narrative approaches. How we tell our stories deeply impacts our experiences and can affect health outcomes. I know this from firsthand experience volunteering in the cancer ward, which is ultimately what inspired me to become a counselor.
