About Lacey Schmidt

Hi! I’m Lacey and I’m a clinical psychologist, a certified mindfulness and meditation teacher, and fellow human being. My training in mindfulness and meditation greatly influences my work with clients. My own experience with mindfulness practice and how it can be invaluable to get through tough times, led me to become a certified mindfulness and meditation teacher so that I can teach others these transformative skills in the context of therapy. I find that because difficulty is an inevitable part of life, we can use mindfulness as a superpower to help us navigate all the twists and turns that it throws at us, and to connect more with the beautiful parts of life. I love working with parents struggling to manage their own mental health. Parenting is a tough job, and sometimes we forget that our mental health is vital to being our best for our kids. I help parents develop a greater awareness of emotional reactions, stress triggers, and the power to respond rather than react. I help clients learn mindfulness exercises that can be integrated into daily life, providing them with a powerful tool to navigate the ups and downs of parenthood and other life stressors so that they can be the parent, and even partner, co-worker, and friend that they want to be. I also love working with people who struggle with anxiety and life stressors. Anxiety and stress can really interfere with life and leave you stuck in your head and unable to fully engage and enjoy your life. I use a foundation of mindfulness-based therapy to help clients stop living in their head and be more at peace in the present moment. I also integrate cognitive-behavioral strategies to change unhelpful beliefs and engage in healthy behaviors that help alleviate anxiety and stress.
