Caroline Landen, LMFT

Clinical Director of Counseling Near Me, Caroline Byrd Landen, specializes in relationships–those with our ourselves, partners, families, and God. Caroline believes that while hurt and pain can come from relationships, so must our healing. Relationships are the key to a better understanding of ourselves and the world around us. With her use of attachment and emotionally focused therapy (EFT) Caroline works to empower and support her clients through belonging and becoming. Since an early age, Caroline has had an interest in religion and spirituality. At this time she is pursuing an advanced license in Christian Sex Therapy with the hopes of helping couples increase their intimacy in a relational and spiritual manner. She is especially interested in the difficulty individuals and couples face making the transition from purity culture to a Song of Solomon Marriage. With training in sex therapy, addiction work, trauma recovery and maternal/baby attachment, Caroline also has expertise in the problems and injuries that reduce sexual and emotional connection in couples. She has further completed the EFT Emotionally Focused Therapy Externship – an intensive 4 day training to help couples feel attached, Core Skills an intensive 6 day training and it working towards supervision to become a Certified Emotionally Focused Therapist. Caroline says, “Having young children, I am especially sympathetic to the process of joining lives and families – the good feelings of security but also the troubling feelings of the loss of autonomy and the difficulties and joys of couplehood and parenthood.” Caroline has completed the Maternal mental health certification program. She is a certified Circle of Security Parenting Facilitator and enjoys sharing the programs with parents, schools, churches and the community. She believes that the fundamentals of attachment can be applied to community, religious and business groups. Caroline loves being outside, especially on the water. On the weekend she likes to get wrapped up in projects, whether it’s remodeling her home, refinishes furniture, the never ending work of having a garden, or creating art with her little ones. Caroline was born and raised in Raleigh, and loves to travel. Married with young children and two dogs.
