About Curtis Chambliss II

Hey! I'm Curtis Chambliss II, owner and operator of One Love Counseling LLC. I'm a licensed mental health counselor but don't let that title scare you off. A line that I often quote (stolen from a good friend) is "I'm not talking at you, I'm talking with you". That's because I know how hard it can be to look in the mirror and decide to make changes. I've been there. We all have. The difficult choices we will discuss are often just as applicable in my own life as they are in yours. My job: I have three main jobs as a clinician. 1. Listen. No matter what, I want you to feel heard. 2. Validate. I want to let you know that what you're going through is real and important. 3. Offer tools. I have been doing this for a long time and I've learned skills that I've seen help many before you and I would love to share them with you! How I Do My Job: I provide traditional talk therapy and imaginal exposure therapy to adults and children (ages 10 and up) who have experienced trauma. I provide homework activities, self-care recommendations, and referrals to community resources that aid in healing from trauma. Why I Do What I Do: When people used to ask me why I'm a therapist, I used to tell this story about taking an aptitude test in middle school that echoed my own beliefs that I was "destined" to be a therapist. However, as I've gotten older and wiser, that answer has changed with time. Through my own personal work, I've learned about how loss can take us down a path that we never expected to see ourselves on. I know what it's like to have to put the puzzle together, piece by piece so that we can see the bigger picture and make the changes that need to be made for ourselves and those we love. I truly cherish the opportunity to help others do the same.
