About Alexandra Migani

Alexandra Migani, LCSW, LADC is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor. She is also known for her work in Transformational Coaching and Consulting. Alexandra offers a strengths-based approach to support, adolescents, adults and families with a wide range of mental health and substance use related concerns. She believes in living with purpose, sense of self, and confidence both personally, professionally and academically. Alexandra is often described as having infectious energy and a real zest for life. Alexandra's training and experience includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, and more to help you heal, grow, and live empowered. She believes in skill building and breaking down larger goals into smaller steps to make any of your goals an easy reality to achieve. Alexandra prides herself on her connection with her clients as well as the passion she finds in working with people to help them improve their lives in every way possible. Alexandra balances her life and passion for psychotherapy and wellness with interests including hiking, yoga, snowboarding, kayaking, paddle boarding, figure skating and spending time with family, friends, and her 2-year-old Black Labrador named Nala. Alexandra’s practice now focuses on late teens to pre-retirement with particular focus on anxiety, self-image/self-esteem, depression, life transitions, school/job stressors, and relationship demands. Alexandra completed her studies at the University of Connecticut’s Graduate School of Social Work, earning a Master’s degree in Social Work, with a clinical concentration. She earned a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Psychology, with a concentration in mental health and substance use from Southern Connecticut State University. She was recognized by the Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services through a grant for working with Transitioning Youth at Risk. Alexandra worked in Adult Outpatient settings as well as in the school setting with ages ranging from kindergarten to elderly. Her specialized experience includes working with college age students, infertility clients and family and friends supporting those with substance use problems.
