About Lisa Kent

Most of my clients wish they could have a life with more joy, more fulfillment, or more abundance. They want to feel greater satisfaction in their relationships, career, or sense of self…but oftentimes, they don’t know where to start. My clients are often struggling with symptoms of anxiety, depression, grief, and/or codependency. This may look like: battling with low self-esteem, relationship issues, trauma, unhealthy family dynamics, emotional disturbances, and/or life transitions. My clients are often looking to develop greater self-acceptance, learn better coping skills, and develop healthier relationship dynamics in order to find a greater sense of satisfaction in life. If this sounds familiar, know that you’re not alone. And, I may be a good fit to help you on your healing journey. In our time together, we will work as a team to uncover the truth behind what thoughts, feelings, and behavioral patterns are not serving your highest good. Using a holistic approach, as both the student and the teacher, I will help guide you on your own healing journey. In our sessions, I will teach you grounding and mindfulness exercises to set the tone and feel present in the moment. When you discuss your experiences, I will ask questions to prompt your deeper reflection and help you look inward. In our busy lives, we don’t often pause to assess our true needs, but we can begin to identify those needs by the way they color our actions and interactions. By encouraging further investigation in your life, I will help you clarify those needs that are driving you. Those answers are buried deep, but they are already within you. It is my job to help you dig them up and dust them off. I do not heal my clients. Rather, my clients heal themselves. My role is to provide guidance, support, and feedback to help you on your healing journey. Together, we will uncover the what and why behind the aspects of your life that are and are not working and create goals that will move you towards a life that feels more joyful, abundant, and aligned. For me, therapy is more than conversations. I will give you creative homework, such as a topic to reflect on or a skill to practice. I will give you tools to help you slow down, sit with what is hard, and make intentional choices about where to go from there. I will guide you through methods to balance and heal your thoughts and emotions and expand your capacity to find peace in the face of chaos. Through our work, you will learn how to respond to stressors with clarity rather than reactivity. By creating space for ALL of you, therapy can be the place you learn to replace the thoughts that no longer serve you… and become empowered to make choices that lead to your best life.
