About Jennifer Burruel
Dr. Burruel earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with minors in Ethnic Studies and Social & Behavioral Sciences (2006), Master of Counseling (2009), and Doctorate of Behavioral Health (2014) from Arizona State University. She has over a decade of professional behavioral and mental health experience including executive leadership, clinical supervision, and direct care in both private practice and nonprofit community agency settings. Dr. Burruel is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and board certified National Certified Counselor (NCC).
As a behavioral and mental health therapist, Dr. Burruel specializes in working with adults and older adolescents (16+), with a concentration on high achieving individuals. Dr. Burruel helps clients with stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, perfectionism, work/life balance, interpersonal relationship challenges, personal development, and professional/career development. Her doctorate education and training included integrated care, which is the holistic treatment of both physical/medical and behavioral health, evidence-based interventions, management skills, and entrepreneurship approaches. Dr. Burruel's education, training, and experience as a provider, clinical supervisor, senior executive leader, and entrepreneur have equipped her with the skills and ability to empathize, support, and connect with high achievers in a unique way.
Dr. Burruel provides integrative counseling and therapy services using evidence-based treatment modalities to customize services to help her clients achieve their personal, professional, and relationship goals. Evidence-based treatments Dr. Burruel uses include Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Feedback Informed Therapy (FIT), and EMDR Therapy (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing).
