About Elise Clerkin

I’m so glad you’ve taken this step to prioritize your mental health. You deserve a responsive, well-trained, and caring therapist. At Wellness Path Therapy, I provide online counseling to adults in the states of both Ohio and Virginia. My clinical work is primarily grounded in behavioral and cognitive therapies, including approaches that integrate flexibility, values, and the dialectic between acceptance and change. I also believe in the power of connection, hope, and resilience, and I believe that we all deserve to lead lives full of dignity and meaning. I have particular expertise treating anxiety disorders, depression, and obsessive-compulsive and related disorders. I also enjoy working to address relationship difficulties, life transitions, and identity questions. As your therapist, I will be committed to your care as I draw from a range of professional and personal experiences. By working together, I am confident that we'll be able to help you build a life that maximizes your health and minimizes your suffering. I received my Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of Virginia in 2010, and my postdoctoral fellowship from Brown University in 2012. I have been licensed to practice psychology in Ohio since 2013 (#6982) and in Virginia since 2021 (#0810007724). I also have a long career as a scholar, educator, and clinician, including working as an associate professor (Miami University) and staff psychologist (University of Virginia).
