About Brendan Kearns

Brendan is a licensed clinical social worker that is currently accepting clients virtually; he will resume in-person treatment in early 2023. He has been practicing within the field of mental health for over thirteen years in a number of clinical and supervisory roles. Brendan works closely with youth and adults to help them understand what drives and motivates anxiety, OCD, stress, and depression while supporting them to overcome some of the most difficult aspects of these disorders that often make people feel helpless to their symptoms. Helping clients reduce the distress that comes with suffering from a mental illness and mitigating the often overwhelming sense that one has “lost control” of their life, is a primary focus in therapy with Brendan. Brendan achieves these goals with clients by paying close attention to early childhood experiences and development; including attachment needs and the biological, psychological, social and spiritual dynamics that lead to one’s decision-making, behaviors and emotional experiences later in life. He has spent his career supporting clients in making choices that improve their well-being, relationships, academic and professional lives and finding ways to eliminate the suffering that people have endured throughout their struggles with mental health issues and crises. He is also trained in family therapy and is happy to offer both individual and family-based support to his clients. Outside of practice, Brendan is a well-traveled surfer, rock climber, entrepreneur, writer and musician by other trades. At this point in time, Brendan is also accepting associate clinicians who wish to work towards obtaining their clinical hours and designation as an LCSW - please email for more information.
