About Brittney Maguire
CLINICAL TRAINING:
I have extensive training cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), exposure and response prevention (ERP), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), family systems therapy and mindfulness. I am specialized in the treatment of a variety of anxiety disorders including body focused repetitive behaviors (BFRB), social anxiety, panic disorder, generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), and obsessive-compulsive and other related disorders (OCD). I am also trained in Habit Reversal Therapy (HRT) to treat Trichotillomania and Comprehensive Behavioral Intervention for Tourette syndrome (CBIT).
I pride myself on developing a deep connection to my clients and create a warm therapeutic relationship needed to achieve results and action while in treatment. I pull from a range of evidence-based therapies to create an approach that works for the individual client. I highly value collaboration with other treatment providers, including with psychiatrists, physicians, and treatment team members.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from The University of Texas at San Antonio.
Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from St. Edward’s University in Austin Texas.
Training and internship in a variety of settings including psychiatric hospitals, a partial hospitalization program, and outpatient programs where she provided individual and group therapy. As well as, private group practice that specializes in anxiety disorders and obsessive compulsive disorder.
