About Bertha Barrett

Bertha F. Barrett is a licensed mental health counselor in the state of Florida. She has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Phoenix with honors as a Sigma Alpha Pi and was inducted into the National Society of Leadership and Success. She has a Master of Art in Clinical Mental Health from Webster University. She is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional who is experienced in assisting survivors and victims with recent, or past trauma. She believes it is not important for clients to discuss details about their traumatic events to heal. However, it is more important to assist clients with identifying triggers and adapting coping skills so they can live in the now. Bertha has earned the "TeleMental Health Training Certificate (THTC) through the completion of the comprehensive THTC program." She is the owner of Intake Psychotherapy & Wellness, LLC, a full telehealth therapy practice assisting all of Florida and coaching practice in the U.S. focused on the whole person. Bertha creates a nonjudgmental, unconditional, and compassionate environment for her clients to grow. Her therapeutic orientation uses CBT, Solution-focus, Interpersonal, Psychoeducation, Creativity, etc., as she believes that no one clinical approach suites all. She states, "Every client is different, so to best meet their individual needs, it is important to understand various therapeutic theories and philosophies." Bertha has helped her clients cope with trauma, anxiety, and depression, and improve anger and other stress-related issues. She is a strong advocate for mental wellness and against domestic violence and seeks to empower people on the significance of caring for their mental health. For Bertha, counseling is more than a profession but a calling. She is constantly learning and building her skills so she can offer her clients the best therapeutic care.
