About Zsolt Gergely

I graduated in psychology in 2005 and worked as a school psychologists in the following few years. In 2007 I got my masters degree in counseling and started individual work with patients locally. In 2015 I started working as a therapist at an addiction center and in the same year I obtained my PhD in pastoral counseling. Since 2017 I am active as an individual therapist, conducting personal and online therapies. The methods I prefer to use include Family and Couple Therapy, Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy, NLP techniques, and elements of cognitive psychotherapy. Even in an individual setting I strive to follow a systemic approach focusing on the interactions between all participants in the structure and taking into account transgenerational and transpersonal aspects. Being a pastoral psychologist I have worked with many religious clients and consider spirituality and religion to be a very important, domain with its -often subconscious- effects to ones lives. During my professional years I worked in leadership positions and tried different environments, allowing me to better understand stress and its vast implications to our lives. The essence of what I experienced with my clients is that every aspect of our lives are interconnected and interdependent. Our body, mind and spirit form a whole and this individual structure connects with the outer world in its unique way. Therefore a personal, integrative and systemic approach is my most important tool when it comes to supporting my patients throughout their journey. I consider working under supervision and embedded in a professional network very important, which gives access to professional expertize including psychologists, physicians and functional health experts. Lastly but most importantly my call as a therapist is to be like a small but ever trustworthy stronghold where everybody feels listened to. To be able to continuously support those struggling long term and to offer those in crisis the joy of finding out that there’s always a way.
