My approach to counseling and online therapy is humanistic and person-centered. This means that I accept you for who you are and where you are. I take the time to understand your past and how events from this time shape your current emotional state and impact the vision you have of your future. With a trauma-focused perspective and at a pace you are comfortable with, we explore how these past events may have impacted your development in a safe, supportive, and empathetic environment. Virtual counselling can still provide an incredible opportunity to be seen and heard.
Healing can look different to different people. Ultimately, powerful healing is rooted in aligning the mind, body, and soul. This is what holistic wellness is all about. With a counseling focus on creating mental, emotional, and physical balance, you can release past trauma and create a beautiful future. We can encourage our own healing by taking up practices that restore balance to our bodies, minds, and souls. Healing is not the same as a cure, although it can be done with or without a cure as a result. It’s also not a one-and-done solution, and the aim is not to “fix” ourselves or someone else.
During our time together in virtual counselling I will provide you with the insight and the tools you need to understand the connection between your mind and body. Using mindfulness-based counseling techniques, I will help you to understand the intersection between thoughts of the mind and feelings of the body. By shifting these two aspects of your life, your emotions will change. New emotional patterns created new behaviors and new behaviors create a new life! All of this change is possible through the convenience of online therapy.
