About Christine Henry

“I prefer animals over people,” is something I often hear my clients say. It's hard to let people "in" and see the real you. For many people it is our pets who truly get to see us flaws and all. However, we all yearn for connection and acceptance from others even if it may feel impossible to get. Often asking for help is out of the question even though you would be the first person to step up to help others. Trauma and grief can turn your world upside down. You have tried self help books but that does not help in the long run which is even more frustrating. It's hard sitting in your anxiety or depression and not seeing a way out. I help clients who feel stuck to heal and create new meaning through their suffering. Using a multicultural lens we explore how their environment may have contributed to their struggles. We often focus on changing ourselves to fit the world when perhaps we can find ways for the world to better adapt to us.
