About Julia Wysokowsky

My name is Julia and I am a certified psychotherapist and clinical psychologist providing treatment in german, english and russian. After receiving my masters in clinical psychology from the University of Potsdam and University of Zurich I finished a 6 years training in depth psychotherapy and psychodynamic theory and practice. This approach believes that the uncovering and exploring of deeper, often unconscious, motives is healing in and of itself. It seeks knowledge of the deep layers underlying our behaviour, cognitions and emotions. My personal approach to therapy is yet always individual and integrative, including elements from different schools of psychotherapy such as interpersonal (IPT), emotion focused and jungian. In my treatment I take the time to listen closely to your needs and tailor our sessions to meet you where you currently are. Through our work together we will move towards greater understanding of your past and its impact on your present life. Our sessions will be spent working to increase your self awareness while strengthening your capacity to fully engage with the world. This depth of work allows for greater self acceptance and more control over the decisions you make in your life. Together we will expand your window of tolerance by unpacking the feelings and thoughts that bring you discomfort, leading to a more authentic and comprehensive experience of yourself. With 9 years of experience I opened my private practise in Berlin and am currently working as a therapist online in english, german and russian. Within my academic research I was focusing on trauma related disorders, prevention methods for PTSD, interpersonal psychotherapy, intercultural therapy and transgenerational transmission of anxiety disorders. Nowdays I am theoretically and practically involved in research on psychedelic therapy treatments.
