About Carnice McFarland

It can often be challenging to discover your voice and identity after a lifetime of well-meaning, but not so helpful messages. We can feel stuck. Therapy provides a safe place where we can learn and practice new ways of being, develop a new sense of self, and respond to ourselves and others with care and compassion. By doing so, we help to alleviate the impact of the slings and arrows that lead to depression, anxiety, guilt & shame, dread, and burnout, etc. While change can be challenging at times, it gives us and opportunity for self-discovery, and learning new skills as we evolve. I am a Psychologist-H.S.P.-P., a generalist by training. I am a member of the APA (American Psychological Association) and a PSYPACT provider, which means I am credentialed by the ASPPB to provide telehealth in the states indicated in addition to my home state of NC. I enjoy using evidence-based client-centered CBT (cognitive-behavioral therapy) and insight approaches in collaboratively working with clients to help clients feel empowered to take charge of their lives in a new way. Particular areas of interest include using expression and cinema therapy as adjuncts in my work. Be encouraged that you’ve taken the first steps to get to where you want to be. This takes grace, courage, and kindness. The story begins where you are. If you are ready to begin writing your next chapter, let's redefine what it means to live your best life, today. I am excited to start the next chapter with you.
