About Jo Eckler

So often we can disconnect from our lives, or turn against ourselves in disgust and hatred. I know, I did too. I found my way back to my self and can't wait to help you do the same. So come home. Stop fighting with yourself and get back on your own team. Be more present in your life, better able to surf the waves that come your way. Gain flexibility in body and mind. Do something you didn't think you could do. Build a life that feels authentic, vital, and meaningful. I'm a non-binary and queer therapist serving clients who are recovering from painful experiences, depression, and anxiety, among other issues. Clients who come to me tend to be people who feel different, who are a bit weird, who were told by their family that they were "too sensitive" or who were the truth-tellers. Veterans, pagans, polyamorous people, transgender people, people in the kink/BDSM community, artists, creatives, writers....whoever you are, your weird is welcome here. As a way of supporting our transgender community, I also offer single-session evaluations for letters for gender-affirming procedures such as surgery and hormones on a pay-what-you-can basis. From my very first day of training as a therapist in 2001 and throughout my work in community mental health, university counseling centers, VA clinics, nursing homes, and now my private therapy practice, I have been helping people find their inner resilience, become better able to set boundaries and do self-care, and be their true selves. I'd be honored to be your guide.
