About Joanne Harpel

Have you lost someone to suicide? Are you struggling to understand WHY? Are you re-living those last hours and days over and over again, trying to make sense of it all? Do you feel like no one really understands what you're going through? Maybe you're even feeling guilty, wondering if you missed a sign or an opportunity, or whether it was something you said or did (or didn't say or do). Are you wondering whether you'll ever feel like yourself again? I can help.
Suicide loss is unique. I deeply understand the pain and complexity. I have 20 years' professional experience -- and also lost my own brother to suicide. I work with survivors of suicide loss across the country (I've been working by Zoom since long before Covid) and also run several Zoom-based suicide bereavement support groups that are open to survivors of suicide loss wherever you're located. There are even specialty groups for adults who've lost a parent; men; mothers; siblings; spouses, partners, and significant others; teens; and twentysomethings. More info is at www.copingaftersuicide.com.
I can help you make sense of what's happened, give you tools to cope, and most of all, offer you hope that you can get through this. I've been there. And I'm here. Please, email me at [email protected] and we'll take it from there.
