About Karen Campbell

Are you experiencing insomnia, feel more worried than usual, feel a lack of support, feel more isolated and stressed about work and family, maybe experiencing feelings of loss, grief and overall depression?  Mental health concerns have greatly increased during the pandemic and having a confidential, safe space to share your concerns, strategize and process what is happening is helpful and often necessary.  I have continued to provide services on-line including via video therapy platform, FaceTime and telephone sessions during the pandemic so you can have therapy from the comfort of your home.

I am a warm, compassionate and empathic therapist which, in combination with extensive training and skills developed over many years in practice, enables me to work successfully with people who are dealing with a wide variety of issues including insomnia, stress, anxiety, depression, social anxiety, career concerns, trauma, grief and life transitions.

Because each person is unique, I utilize an integrative approach including Psychodynamic therapy, Hypnotherapy and CBT, among others, to find the best fit for you.  Hypnotherapy can be very helpful in treating a variety of issues including stress, anxiety and insomnia.  CBT addresses negative and self-defeating patterns of thinking and behaviors that may be impacting your life and keeping you stuck and unable to move forward.  I also provide stress management and mindfulness training.
My experience is varied and I work with adults and college age students.  I spent several years working at  the NYU Counseling Services providing psychotherapy to students from diverse backgrounds who were dealing with academic, social, and relationship challenges in the Bachelor, Master and Ph.D. Programs.  My practice has always been diverse and includes people from many different life experiences.
I offer a free 15 minute video/FaceTime/telephone consultation so we can talk initially and your questions and concerns can be addressed as soon as possible.  Please visit my website: http://karencampbellcounseling.com/   for further information.
