About Alysha Roll

I am a Licensened Clinical Social Worker, Certified Gottman Couples Therapist and MAster Trainer and Consultant for the Gottman Institute.  I am passionate about helping couples heal from affairs/betrayals, enhance their friendship, better manage conflict and reignite passion in their relationship. I also works with premarital couples to help them create lasting love.

I am a compassionate and caring psychotherapist who is dedicated to helping individuals and couples create positive changes in their lives. Through collaboration, I walk with my clients on the path of new skill development and emotional healing. My belief is that each person has unique strengths and values that need to be supported and developed to foster lifelong health and happiness.

Through my extensive experience, I has honed my skills in working with individuals and couples with a wide range of issues and am effective in facilitating emotional well-being with mood issues, anxiety, grief and loss, self-esteem, stress management and general mental health concerns. Valuing and supporting diversity, I provide a welcoming environment for those in the LGBTQ community.

Traditional weekly counseling can be done in my office or online.  I offer 1 to 4 day marathon therapy for couples desiring a more intensive approach, couples who have difficulty scheduling weekly appointments or for those who do not have a Gottman Therapist in their area (her office is in close proximity to Bush Intercontinental Airport). In addition, I teach The Art & Science of Love Couples Weekend Workshops  multiple times a year.

From a young age I was drawn to working with individuals and couples to help them develop a sense of empowerment. Pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Women’s Studies and a Masters of Social Work from the University of Utah, I began my career as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. My experience in the human service field spans twenty five years and includes directing a homeless shelter in the Washington DC area, working with domestic violence and sexual assault survivors and supporting individuals coping with the loss of a loved one due to cancer. A successful private practice in Salt Lake City, Utah set the stage for my current work. After moving to Texas I worked at Family Time Crisis and Counseling Center and became a Social Work Supervisor for students and interns. In 2007, I created what is now known as Couples Counseling and Psychotherapy Associates, a thriving practice that serves Kingwood and surrounding communities.
