About Erin Johnston

My style as a clinician is relaxed. Our sessions should be a positive interaction, even if we are discussing difficult issues. It is my job to make you comfortable and safe so that we can resolve the issues that have brought you to therapy. I do not sit back quietly, but instead engage with you to create movement and change towards a positive outcome.

My clients are not a specific “type” of person. Many of my clients are working through transition issues, while others are dealing with more chronic mental health issues.

I use a collaborative model, where sessions feel like two people having a conversation in my living room, versus a stereotypical doctor/patient interaction.   I do not view my clients’ issues as coming from an abnormal psychopathology, but instead as a reaction to living in a stressful, complex, and contradictory world.  I seek to understand your issues in the context of your unique experience rather than viewing you as having something wrong or being broken.

I have worked with a lot of different people over the last 20 years - the only constant is a commitment to feel better.  It is my pleasure to assist in this process.
