About Debra Alper

My therapy is based on a belief that each of us have patterns of relating to others that stem from our relationships that we had as children. Often these patterns are unconscious. When we find ourselves constantly having the same issues repeating with different people, we can feel stuck, anxious, depressed, frustrated and unsatisfied with our lives. Therapy is a way of uncovering what our relational models are, and finding conscious and healthy ways for us to re-engage in ways that don't automatically repeat unhealthy roles. I find this to work with both individuals and with couples who often times are stuck in these unconscious repetitions that now are affecting their primary relationship.
