About Michelle Paris

Going to therapy is like taking a trip. You bring your baggage filled with memories, patterns built up over the years, and all the good things about you, and set off on your journey. You may feel excited, apprehensive, or unsure if you want a change - but you breathe in and take the next step anyway. You hire a tour guide to help unpack your bags, figure out what's useful, and find the path to get to where you're going.
As a therapist for over 20 years, I find that the path to change depends on your personality, natural abilities, strengths and unique history. My approach is to draw upon these characteristics, utilize methods best-suited to you and ground it all in neuroscientific research on how our brains work.
My practice is located in Logan Square/Avondale and reflects the surrounding community - artists, students, professionals, entrepreneurs and families. I specialize in identifying and breaking old patterns, navigating forks in the road, finding balance, building resilience and hope, and embracing the uncertainty and inevitable changes that life throws our way.
