About Diane Leamy

My practice is informed by a deep understanding of neurological development across the life span. Our brains are incredibly adaptive and are shaped by inheritance and life experience.  Brain and body together generate mind, in spite of our cultural view of body and brain as separate. Therefore I do use strategies that incorporate physical movement along with mindfulness.

I practice a relational form of psychodynamic therapy. Our nervous systems constantly respond to the nervous system of another. It is in this dance that the greatest change happens, whether with children or adults.

Unfortunately it is ususally pain that opens us up to considering change. A chance to examine pain with an empathic other whether you are struggling to help your child, teenager or yourself can bring surprising growth and resilence.
