About Myles Glatter

Counseling Practice (part time) I have been in practice at my office for the last 31 years, and have worked in the mental health field since 1979. Since March 2020, I have been seeing clients virtually using Zoom or Google tele-conferencing or phone. - I am currently providing individual and family counseling to adults, adolescents, and children around a variety of issues including anxiety, attention deficit disorder, mood disorders, grief and loss, addictions, lack of assertiveness, self-esteem issues, and criminal behaviors. - I specialize in evaluating and treating clients with history of sexual abuse and boundary issues, including completion of risk assessments with clients seeking help on their own, or who are involved with DCYF, probation, and/or Family Court. - I use use a variety of counseling approaches including supportive, traditional talk therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, behavioral therapy, psycho-educational methods, etc. I believe in starting where the client is at, building upon strengths, and being a guide in the therapy process, helping to support the client in what they want to address, but also offering guidance, suggestions, and targeted areas of need. - I have worked with clients of different ethnic and racial backgrounds including using translators to meet with Vietnamese, Cape Verdean, and Latino clients. - In the past, I have provided in-service trainings for mental health clinicians on topics of sexual offending and addiction at Bradley Hospital, The Providence Center, and the Naval Base Family Services Center.
