About Anika Kelso

AS OF 7/1/20, I AM NOT ACCEPTING ANY NEW CLIENTS EXCEPT ON A WAITING LIST. At this time, due to the coronavirus/COVID-19 pandemic, we are only offering secure, confidential, HIPAA compliant VIDEO sessions. Santa Fe Supportive Therapy, LLC is a group of seasoned, ethically sound therapists who provide therapy in a positive, strengths-based manner that emphasizes individualized approaches in partnership with our clients. Our therapists have a variety of clinical skills and all accept insurance. I really enjoy working with teens and young adults. I also work with adults of all ages. Most of my clients are working on resolving gender identity, sexuality and sexual orientation concerns, low self-esteem, self-identity issues, depression, anxiety, social fears, parenting issues, parent-child conflicts, and family communication difficulties, among other problems. As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I have a particular interest in supporting gender non-conforming people and the community as a whole. I use what is called an eclectic approach with my clients, which means that I draw upon many different therapeutic approaches and theories and use what seems needed in any given situation. One of the main approaches I draw from is cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), but I also draw from solution-oriented therapy, mindfulness and self-awareness techniques, feminist therapy, and narrative therapy. I support my clients in a non-judgmental exploration of outdated beliefs and behaviors though which they become empowered to choose alternative beliefs and behaviors, which allows for healing and growth. If I don't feel like the right therapist for you, we will assess your needs and refer you to one of our therapists who better matches your unique personality and situation. Please visit our website for more information about Santa Fe Supportive Therapy and our therapists.
