About Kristin Atkinson

Difficult and painful life experiences often leave us feeling like something in our life just isn't right. Sometimes it's not even clear whats off, but something seems missing, we feel stuck, overwhelmed, lonely, or disengaged. I work with those who are navigating the challenges in their lives and who are searching for a path of healing, connection, and rediscovery. Together we will explore & make sense of your struggle, practice ways to deal with stress and negative feelings, build self-compassion, and awaken inner resources for self healing. We'll discover what is needed to transform difficulty into growth and vitality. I provide compassionate support, a non-judgmental space for exploration, and valuable information about how our brains, bodies, and relationships work. I use a multifaceted approach including mindfulness and expressive arts to address trauma, work with difficult emotions, and alleviate symptoms of anxiety and depression. EMDR and IFS can also be incorporated. I know how hard it can be to shake a funk, to fully commit to decisions or a relationship, or to overcome anxiety and past traumas. I also know that life can feel full and satisfying, that growth and change is possible, and that you don't have to traverse the path alone. Please feel free to reach out, I would love to talk about the work we can do together. Kristin is based in Austin, TX and works under the supervision of M.Michelle Hawn at Labyrinth Counseling.
