Alisha Sumter, LCMHC, LCASA

In life, we all have a path that has been shaped through all of the twists and turns that we encounter. Although some paths are similar, no two paths are exactly the same. That is the foundation on which Alisha Sumter founded her private practice Create A Journey. 14 years of experience in the mental heath field fueled Alisha’s determination to become a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor; that same fuel drove Alisha to become a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist Associate. Alisha proudly serves youth, adolescents, and adults by providing them with a supportive nonjudgmental environment. She has assisted many with achieving their desired personal growth in managing depression, anxiety, and various life changes. Alisha is a wife, mother, sister, and a confidant to many. She understands the alterations that come in life when you wear many hats. Her principle “ Life is a Journey, Create Your Own,” serves not only as a belief she shares with others, it’s also a principle she puts into practice. Alisha Sumter has a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology from NC State University, as well as a Masters of Arts in Professional Counseling from Liberty University. Alisha’s experience and education has developed her approach and consistency in providing a supportive environment; this aides her in exploring behaviors and patterns in life, that may not yield the desired outcome, redirect your way of thinking, and help you achieve the positive transformation that you aspire to reach.
