About Angie Barker

Angie lived in Illinois with her husband for 28 years where they raised their two daughters. She obtained her Bachelor’s in Psychology from Western Illinois University as well as her Master’s in Counseling Education. She is a member of the NBCC, ICA, and a past President for the Western Illinois Professional Counselor’s Association. She obtained her Missouri Licensed Professional Counselor’s license in 2018 and has been practicing in Osage Beach since then. Angie also owns Counseling Connection LLC which provides telehealth-only life coaching services. She realized that with high deductibles and some health insurances that don’t provide any mental health services that many individuals weren’t able to benefit from counseling. She decided to provide life coaching 30 minute sessions for a fraction of the typical counseling fee. Angie works with a variety of clients and their concerns including depression, anxiety, and stress and anger management. She enjoys assisting couples to navigate difficult phases of life and improve their communication and intimacy. Family counseling, including child behavioral problems and/or divorce issues, is an area where Angie excels. First responders and the military are close to Angie’s heart as her husband retired from law enforcement and the military. Her family lived through two year-long deployments so she has a vast knowledge of the stress that is suffered on the home front as well as an idea of what the soldier has to endure overseas and when they return. Angie encourages all of her clients, especially women, to improve their wellbeing by making themselves a priority. This includes doing what they can to be healthy and happy. In her spare time, Angie enjoys taking long walks with her rescue Chihuahua, Gertie, spending time with her family, and most outside activities.
