About Rachel Fintzy Woods

You struggle with anxiety, perfectionism, and not feeling "good enough". You're unhappy with your weight, food, and your body image. You compulsively overeat. Your relationships are unfulfilling. You've lost touch (or feel you've never found) your inner wisdom. This "soul sickness" has possibly led to physical symptoms. Fortunately, there is hope. Together we can bolster your resilience, courage, and the ability to make desired changes in your life. As a relationship specialist, I also focus on strengthening your communication skills and relationship dynamics, to help you connect better with other people - and yourself. I work with people who struggle with anxiety, perfectionism, emotional eating, and addictive or codependent relationships. My treatment approach includes evidence-based techniques such as cognitive-behavioral, mindfulness, self-compassion, and Gottman couples therapy. I am also happy to collaborate with other health professionals on your treatment plan. During my 18 years conducting clinical research at UCLA, I worked with mind/body medicine, ADHD, substance abuse, depression, and PTSD. Investing in your psychological and spiritual well-being can be profoundly healing on many levels, including physical. My blog Cultivating Contentment and Happiness at Psych Central gives more information about my philosophy.
