About Jeffrey Weist

Master of Social work from State University of New York at Buffalo in 1998 Washington Licensed Independent Social Worker #LW00006674, since 2001 National Association of Social Worker #885817973, since 1996 Association of Play Therapy member, since 2006. I just became certified for play therapy supervision, March, 2018. I have been a licensed therapist since 2001. I specialize in working with children, adolescents, and families. My areas of focus are family problems, mood and behavior management, parenting skills, crisis intervention, trauma, and victims of abuse. I utilize numerous social work interventions including cognitive/behavioral therapy, solution focused therapy, and play therapy. I also provide anger assessments for adults and older adolescents and school violence assessments. I have been providing supervision to social workers who are working towards state licensure. I offer services designed to help people to identify goals and to access your internal strengths. Together we can concentrate on the steps needed to meet your individual and/or family’s goals. I believe that each of us has the inner strength and resources to accomplish our life goals. I help people use their internal and external strengths, offering suggestions and alternatives to help facilitate growth. I urge you to make most of the planned activities, appointments, and assignments, including active involvement on your part and full participation of all those who are involved. Due to the “Stay at home” order from Governor Jay Inslee, I will be providing telemental health services. I am Telemental Health Certified by the Zur Institute. I will be using a HIPAA-compliant video chat over the internet. I will be using Doxy.me and VSee as a backup for video chat. Whichever device you will be using for our video chat, you will need to use any popular browser. Telehealth will be like in-office therapy. If there is a copay or deductible, I will collect it at the time of service.
