About Anna McChesney
Let me help you on your journey! I have over fourteen years experience in the field! I enjoy working with young adults who are having difficulties with life's transitions. I practice a person centered, solution-focused approach to counseling and employ cognitive-behavioral techniques. I believe in finding strengths and helping others see their potential. Additionally and if appropriate, I use music therapy interventions, mindfulness strategies, and guided imagery and music within our sessions to further connect, educate, and strengthen personal theme. I am a licensed professional counselor and a board certified music therapist.
After our initial visit, we decide on a plan to move you towards your goals. I specialize in finding ways to connect your thoughts and your feelings and integrate mind, body, and heart. This includes creative therapy techniques like music, mindfulness, yoga, imagery and art in session.
In addition to experience working with adults in life's transitions, I am different than most therapists in the area due to my experience in behavioral difficulties, special education, and trauma.
