Hello my name is San Juanita (Janie) Diaz. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas. I have been a counselor for 23 years. I have a Bachelor Degree in Sociology and a Master's Degree in Counseling and Guidance. I have worked with individuals from the ages of 5 to 100plus. I have worked in a variety of settings addressing different issues. My work experience includes working in nursing homes, outpatient clinics, vocational training programs. Women's shelter, and substance abuse facilities. In addition, I have worked years providing counseling services to families involved with Child Protective Services. My therapy modality is integrative. I primarily utilize a person-centered approach and include as needed Cognitive Behavior therapy, solution-focused, and strength-based. I believe that establishing/ strengthening rapport and the therapeutic alliance are vital to counseling.
