I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Texas and have over two decades of experience working with a variety of issues and ages. Most of my experiences have been within public schools. I started working with clients in 2018 at mental health agencies to gain experience while pursuing my LPC. I have my Master's degree in Guidance and Counseling and Doctor of Education degree in Educational Leadership. I am not able to prescribe medications and I am not a licensed psychologist. I was born in Cambodia and survived a genocide. I look forward to working with all clients, especially clients from minority groups. I can understand and speak Khmer but cannot write or read the language. I believe supporting the individual needs of each client is my main therapeutic purpose. Emotional and social wellness are essential components of a healthy life. Relationships with different people such as family, friends, acquaintances, and employers may influence our mental wellness. When mental health issues are not addressed, feelings of hopelessness and dissatisfaction with different facets of life, may occur leading to an an unfulfilled and inauthentic life. I believe providing a safe space allows clients the opportunity to fully explore their emotional pain and discover ways to bring about healing.
