About Muneer Kirmani

I am a licensed therapist in Colorado with a specialization in international disaster psychology from the University of Denver. My academic training has equipped me with the expertise to work with individuals and communities affected by traumatic events, acute and chronic civil conflict, natural disasters, and health-related pandemics. As a member of a Muindi family from Kenya and coming from an Asian (Indian) background, I understand the complexities of cultural diversity and its impact on mental health. My personal experience as part of a religious minority, compounded by having LGBTQ+ family members, has given me insight into the intersection of culture, religion, and sexual orientation. With 4 years of professional work experience, I have successfully helped clients navigate stress and anxiety, LGBTQ+ related issues, trauma and abuse, and depression. I am dedicated to creating a safe and open environment where clients can freely express their thoughts and feelings without fear of judgment.
