Philosophy of Care J.D. Weidner is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Georgia who has 12 years of experience working with individuals with co-occurring disorders. He completed clinical licensure training at Nova Southeastern University. He collaborates with the clients through motivational enhancement, cognitive behavioral therapy, guided self-change, solution-focused, exposure therapy, meditation, performance enhancement, coaching, and client-centered approaches to help individuals realize their goals in treatment. He understands that frequently we may self-medicate ourselves as a way to deal with stress, loss, or grief and that these patterns can be detrimental, taking the form of addiction or behavioral form of escapism, and often result in a spiral of self-destruction that leads us to feel out of control. In addition, these patterns in life can cause us to lose sight of our goals affecting our health and our relationships. Therefore, he is here to help individuals regain control over their life and break the cycle to start healing. J.D. Weidner’s specialties: • Addiction • LGBTQQI • Depression • Anxiety • Anger management • Stress management • Life transitions • Men’s issues
