About Kristin Money
My Background and Approach
At the core of depression, trauma, and grief is a person. You are worthy of time, understanding, relief, and validation. You deserve to be listened to and taken seriously. Through a combination of authentic connection and trauma informed interventions, therapy can be a life-changing experience. I have been trained in Motivational Interviewing, TF-CBT (Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). I like using an eclectic approach and will often integrate many other trauma informed interventions in the therapy process. I received my Bachelors in Psychology from Lincoln Memorial University and my Masters in Education with a specialization in Mental Health Counseling from Lindsey Wilson College. I am currently an LPC-MHSP (Licensed Professional Counselor with Mental Health Service Provider designation) in the state of Tennessee.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a human person, which means that I make mistakes, cuss, care too much, and have days where I do not feel that I can do anything right. Believe it or not, it has taken the perfectionist in me a long time to learn that I'm okay and to be okay with it. I am a survivor of narcissistic abuse and complex trauma in many different forms. Through therapy, I have been able to discover hidden things about myself. Some of which aren't all sunshine and rainbows, and some that are indeed covered in brightly colored unicorn fairy dust. I also believe that music has saved my life in so many ways, and too many times to count. Learning about myself has been a lifelong process. My personal journey, training, and education has allowed me to learn ways that I can help others just like you.
