About Laura Geftman

Laura Geftman, LCSW is an accomplished psychotherapist, international speaker, healthcare marketer, and content producer who brings a unique blend of experience in healthcare, education, and marketing to every client with whom she connects. Laura began her career producing advertising at some of New York’s most notable agencies including Young & Rubicam and McCann Erickson. She worked on high-profile accounts such as Coca-Cola, Lowe’s, Mastercard, and Microsoft. Called to service, Laura returned to graduate school to pursue social work. She has excelled in providing mental health therapy, program development, and healthcare marketing. Laura specializes in professional development, supporting emerging adults, LGBTQ, and addiction/recovery communities, and treating anxiety, depression, relationships, addiction, and trauma. Laura has been providing therapy services since 2006 and offering coaching and therapy online since 2013. It wasn’t until Laura was offered an opportunity to consult for a cannabis company that she became more interested in discovering the benefits of psychedelics than continuing to struggle to support patients amidst the opioid crisis. Since her re-education, she has consulted for various cannabis and hemp companies in product development, content creation, event planning, and digital marketing. Subsequently, Laura also founded The Calm, Cool & Collected, an educational resource about the safe and ethical use of cannabis and hemp for mental health conditions. Laura’s passion lies in supporting individuals to best understand the benefits and risks in treating with cannabis and hemp. Laura is an international speaker having presented for the Advatera, Texas Association of Addiction Professionals, Rutgers University, and Elementa. She has also provided commentary for various media sources including Entrepreneur, BuzzFeed, Parade, Lift & Co., and more. Laura received a Master in Social Service from Bryn Mawr College Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research, and a Bachelor of Science from Boston University College of Communications. Laura currently resides in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She's been awarded the title of “Best Dog Aunt Ever” by more than a few owners. She loves experimenting with food, and she’s getting better at cooking every meal, every day. In her free time, Laura enjoys traveling, kayaking, roller skating, tennis, and art.
