About Lin Hu

Do you get into your head a lot? Are you your own worst critic? Do you have certain behaviors, such as alcohol or drug use, that hold you back in life,d hurt people you love, and take away things you cherish? The vicious cycle of feeling bad about yourself, using unhelpful coping which invariably makes the situation worse, and then feeling worse, is taking control of your life. However, there are skills you can learn to get unstuck and take back your life. Are you ready to do the hard work so you can feel better and be free? I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist in North Carolina. I have had extensive experience working at outpatient/residential addiction/mental health facilities, assessing and treating those who are struggling with substance abuse, depression, anxiety, trauma, grief and loss, family/relationship issues, self-esteem, and individual challenges adjusting to life changes. I am also able to offer therapy services in Mandarin Chinese. My treatment approach is person-centered, based on hope, strengths, self-determination and empowerment that has been shaped by the diverse populations I have served throughout my experience and my personal experience of having lived in two different cultures. I utilize an integrative approach of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and motivational interviewing, which is trauma-informed and grounded in strengths perspective.
