FOCUS OF COUNSELING: CHRISTIAN WOMEN
Dr. Susan Haberkorn was born and raised in Hagerstown, MD. Called to the ministry of Christian Counseling in 2009, Dr. Haberkorn was ordained as a non-denominational minister in October 2010. She completed her Master's in Clinical Pastoral Counseling in 2011 and her Doctorate in Clinical Pastoral Counseling in 2015.
Dr. Haberkorn specializes in counseling Christian women. She uses the Arno Profile System (APS) to determine inborn temperament, which gives insight to the natural, inborn "wiring" of her clients. Validating the APS information with clients provides a solid platform on which to base a plan of counseling. Prayer and Scriptures, as well as cognitive behavioral techniques, various handouts, and homework assignments are aimed at helping clients grow in faith and understanding of their position in Christ and to develop strategies for overcoming challenges.
Dr. Haberkorn strives to educate her clients to "become their own counselor" to effectively resolve internal and external conflict.
