Daniel Abar, M.Ed

I specialize in working with young adults, including post-secondary students, to manage anxiety, depression, stress, and relationship difficulties. I also work with adults, including parents of young people who are struggling with mental health or addictions issues. I have expertise in the areas of trauma, men’s issues, and substance use. I offer collaborative, non-judgmental, trauma-informed virtual care to individuals 16 years and older. I am an experienced Registered Psychotherapist (College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario). I have a Master's in Counselling from the University of Ottawa. I have 12+ years experience providing therapy in healthcare, non-profit, and education settings in Ontario, Quebec, and Nova Scotia. I look forward to applying my experience and expertise in private psychotherapy. My goal is to work with you to better understand what is getting in your way and to help you make targeted changes to improve your mental health. Some of the areas we can focus on together include making behaviour changes, managing difficult emotions, and improving interpersonal relationships. I can offer both short-term and long-term counselling.
