About Kimberly Norasing
I work with multi-cultural individuals, first- and second-generation immigrants experiencing anxiety, stress, anger from the many roles and identities they may hold; attempting to build their own lives; or creating boundaries. All while trying to navigate their family of origin, loved ones, peers, and cultural and societal expectations. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I provide evidenced-based therapeutic support that is empathic, social justice informed, culturally-sensitive, and goals-oriented.
As a second generation Southeast Asian American woman and a child of refugees, I can empathize with straddling the different roles and identities we form for ourselves while attempting to balance our family of origin, loved ones, peers, and the multiple cultures and social systems that we live in.
One-on-one online therapy sessions are a space for safe, trusting and collaborative work between the client and therapist. My warm and relaxed therapeutic approach focuses on the strength and self-determination that you already possess. My role is to provide a comfortable space for you to flesh out the issues you are experiencing; to help develop insight, self-esteem and confidence; and to create new goals, thoughts and behavior patterns.
I have 10+ years of experience in New York City providing short-term and long-term evidence-based therapeutic support for adults experiencing anxiety, low self-esteem, depression, relational issues, life transitions, and substance use. I have worked with clients from diverse racial, cultural, and socio-economic backgrounds in social service settings and holistic healthcare programs serving children, adults and families. Additionally, I have graduate and post-graduate training and experience in Industrial/Organization Psychology at non-profit and corporate organizations, contributing to further insight with adults experiencing career-related issues.
