I graduated in 2008 from St. Mary's University Twin Cities campus. I did my practicum at Park House which was a day treatment center for people with HIV/AIDS and a mental illness.
For the last 11 years I have been working with children, adolescents, and their parents, in addition to one on one counseling with adults. I also supervised a team of mental health practitioners in the Children's Therapeutic Social Services program. My approach with young people is to join them in their world, learn about them, and how they perceive their lives. I then use a variety of games and activities to empower them to successfully navigate their way through life.
