About Jacqueline Belanger

My most effective tool as a clinician is bringing my full, authentic self to our sessions. That translates into a humanistic or client-centered approach: warmth and unconditional acceptance, being genuine and transparent, and striving to understand you and your experiences by asking questions and by using empathy. I have specialized in working with college students and LGBTQ+ folks. Aside from those populations, I consider myself to be more of a generalist than a specialist. My clinical strengths fall more under the miscellaneous concerns that are part of life: family/romantic/interpersonal relationships, navigating college/careers, the process of exploring, understanding, and accepting yourself, etc. My work is frequently more about a holistic view of the person than it is about a particular diagnosis. I also use a holistic approach, meaning that I think that your mental health affects and is affected by most areas of your life. Therefore, our sessions can shift focus according to your needs. Sometimes that includes help navigating a particular situation and/or helping you find appropriate resources. You can find more details about me and my services on my website. From there, I encourage you to schedule a free, brief phone call to see if we would be a good fit. I look forward to hearing from you!
