About Brittany Attwood

Supervised by Angel M. Hoodye, MS, LPC-S, CART Hi! I'm Brittany Attwood, M.A., LPC-Associate and National Certified Counselor (NCC). You may have experienced a traumatic event or traumatic relationship, either recently or in the past, and are wondering when you are ever going to feel like yourself again. You may even be experiencing anxiety, grief, depression or trouble sleeping on a daily basis. Or maybe you aren't here for yourself. Perhaps you are looking to find help for your child who is struggling making friends, dealing with a trauma themselves, or living with a disability. Well, I am glad you are here! It is a brave step to reach out and find support! I am passionate about making the therapeutic experience inclusive, collaborative, and hope-filled for everyone. After years as both a mentor and a special education fellow, I gained tremendous experience with various socioeconomic groups, ages, and populations. This experience ultimately led to my decision to start this private practice and pursue a career that focused more on the holistic needs of both children and adults. Being born as someone who lives with a physical disability myself, I come to this work with a lot of lived experience with various difficulties and types of loss. In my counseling practice I most enjoy working with children and adults who have experienced trauma or grief, as well as those who live with chronic health conditions. As someone who too has sought out counseling in the past, I know how important it is to find a therapist who is both skilled and trustworthy. I hope you'll take a look at this site and choose to bravely continue pursuing your healing and your best life.
