About Sierra Skaza

My overarching goal is to assist each individual in developing an appreciation for who they authentically are with an emphasis on positive growth. I have a Bachelors of Science in Psychology, with a minor in Rehabilitation and Disabilities, and concentration in substance use disorder(s). I have experience working with children and adults concerning topics such as grief, anxiety, depression, addiction, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and life transitional support. I am passionate about empowering people and emphasizing personal choice. By creating a positive relationship with oneself and providing opportunities for expansive thinking, I believe I can assist in diminishing the severity of whatever presenting problem you may be facing in this chapter of your life. I believe that every person is unique in their own beautiful way and therefore believe in the importance of creating a non judgmental and safe environment with the knowledge that it can be difficult and even uncomfortable to create a new therapeutic relationship with a counselor. My goal is to get to know each individual and to assist in the development of positive transformation, whatever that may look like for you. In my personal life, I enjoy participating in activities such as hiking with my dog, reading, making art projects, listening to music, baking, and rock climbing. I am also extremely passionate about the field of mental health and trust in the power of counseling to positively affect change in people’s lives. I am currently only available for telehealth sessions in order to ensure safety of myself, my clients, and our loved ones. Once it is safe, sessions will be offered in person in addition to telehealth for the Greater Phoenix area. I am practicing under the direct supervision of Nicole O’Hare, MS, LPC, CIMHP.
