About Dana Hatwig

Dana began her journey to becoming a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner as an active duty Naval Officer.  Having started out "in the trenches" as an Emergency/Trauma Nurse with a combat zone deployment to Afghanistan, she has a real understanding of the importance and urgency of obtaining compassionate mental health care. Dana is a magna cum laude graduate of Wilkes University Passan School of Nursing and currently completing a doctoral program. She is Board Certified as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and holds multiple advanced certifications in Dementia Care, Mindfulness, addiction, and treating anxiety. Dana has experience working in various psychiatric settings including geriatric, adult, adolescent, and child inpatient as well as outpatient services. She has additionally worked in both prison and and addiction psychiatry.  The diversity of her experience delivers an exceptionally comprehensive understanding of a wide variety of mental illnesses as well as wellness deficiencies. During session, you'll find Dana to be approachable, honest, and...maybe even a bit quirky. She is an excellent listener and a terrible teller of mom-jokes. Most importantly, she is focused on treating the whole person...body, mind, and soul.
